A cool little Link
I tried to look at something new, something I haven't explored before which lead me to Sync.in. It took a bit of playing around in order to get a free trail because there is no longer a free edition. It was fun to play around with but its your standard collaborative tool. You get live chat with members using the application, take notes, collaborate notes and all that business. Its pretty looking but in all honesty with free application like Google Docs and the many extensions you can download for it not the best choice. If I had to use it or something similar in a class I would use it more or less for creative projects, give students a chance to work together outside class. An application like this is good for something like a group story. Where one starts a line then another one continues then another till the story is complete. You can save the information and only select people can access the collaborative work.
The second thing I wanted to look at was LiveBinders. Why? Its nice to be organized. Personally I can use this for my eportfolio, come to think about it that isn't a bad idea. Some students use eportfolio to showcase their knowledge and learning over the years, LiveBinder can help students organize information. You can also have students organize information for final projects or research papers to show their process and progress. It works on many different OS and is easy to use and organize like a physical binder. You can share your binder with others via social media. One last idea would be to use LiveBinder for students to upload assignments.
My eportfolio!
